TDS Telecom is dedicated to improving rural broadband. Over the next four years, TDS is deploying network updates that are part of TDS’ commitment with the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) through its Enhanced Connect America Cost Model (E-ACAM) program.

The Enhanced A-CAM program provides universal service high-cost support to participating carriers like TDS to deploy and support 100/20 Mbps or faster broadband service for locations served by the program, including some of the most difficult-to-reach areas of the country.

Network Upgrades FAQs

TDS does its best to notify you when construction is about to commence. Construction crews will place a door hanger at your residence that outlines the process, which includes a contractor marking underground utilities with flags or spray paint. The property owner is responsible for clearly marking any privately owned underground facilities (e.g., sprinkler systems, invisible fences, security systems, or private power) with flags or spray paint, and calling the construction hotline at 1-855-259-8576.

We work with local municipalities to get permits to access utility easement areas. Easements can include an area between the sidewalk and street and/or 6-foot-wide strips along the edges of a property. In the case of aerial infrastructure, we also get permits and work with pole owners.

Products, service availability, and pricing vary by location. Residential customers who meet program requirements may be eligible for our low-cost internet service, TDS® Connect.

Build timelines will vary by location. TDS has thousands of addresses to reach, and we’re working diligently to connect homes as quickly as possible. The E-ACAM program requires we complete our construction by 2028.
