Make sure your DSL modem is:

  • Plugged in (power cord)
  • Has the phone cord connected to a phone jack and is not plugged into a DSL filter and all other devices that plug into the phone line (i.e. phones, satellite TV receivers, ect. . .) are plugged into a DSL filter.
  • Turned on
  • Connected directly to your computer with an Ethernet cable (If there is more than one port in the back of the modem it doesn't matter which one you use.)

Next, make sure your DSL modem has:

  • A steady green DSL light
  • A green Internet light (solid or flashing; it doesn't matter)
  • A steady green, numbered Ethernet light (1, 2, 3, or 4 - it doesn't matter which one).

Once your modem's lights are all on, restart your computer and you should be able to browse the Internet.  If some lights do not turn on, check your cable connections again or call Technical Support for assistance.
