TDS Telecom wins DWD Vets Ready employer award

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) was honored today as a top Wisconsin workplace for Veterans, winning a 2023 Gold Level Award through the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development’s Vets Ready initiative.

The award recognizes companies that go above and beyond to support Veterans and their families. As an employer of more than 400 Veterans, TDS works diligently to recruit and support those who served. The Vets Ready award follows TDS being named earlier this week to the Military Times Best for Vets: Employers list as well as a 2023 VETS Indexes Recognized Employer in April.

“TDS is proud to be a workplace of choice for hundreds of Veterans across the country, and we will continue to do all we can to support them and honor their incredible service. We thank the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development for recognizing our efforts through the Vets Ready initiative,” said AnnMarie Kreitzer, TDS Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.

TDS offers benefits including differential compensation and continuation of health care coverage and the company share of insurance premiums for associates on military leave. The company also provides Veterans an extra day off every year to show its appreciation for their service.

For the last several years, TDS’ Patriot Associate Resource Group (ARG) has provided a sub-community within the larger TDS workforce for veterans, current military service members, first responders, and non-military supporters.

The group offers avenues for volunteerism, support for various service organizations, knowledge sessions, and celebrations of military holidays and events. It also includes a mentoring program, Battle Buddies, that helps connect new Veteran associates with seasoned Veteran associates to help their transition to TDS.

TDS received the Vets Ready recognition at an event today in Milwaukee. Employers that receive the award get promoted to veteran job seekers and community partners in multiple ways.
