TDS presents donation to Wisconsin Veterans Village
APPLETON, Wisconsin – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has presented a donation of backpacks to help residents of the Wisconsin Veterans Village.
The donation took place Tuesday, March 21, at the Veterans Village, 2919 W. Glenpark Drive, Appleton. The backpacks were requested to help residents pick up groceries and other needed items in their day-to-day lives.
“As we sought ways to help our veterans and the Wisconsin Veterans Village, backpacks arose as a big need. The Veterans Village provides exceptional service for our veterans, and we’re proud to support them in any way we can,” said Pam Litscher, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing in Appleton.
“We truly appreciate TDS. Their commitment to helping local veterans is greatly appreciated and enables our organization to continue with our mission, serving those who served!” said Jennifer Wicklund, Wisconsin Veterans Village business office manager/controller.
TDS also facilitated a lunch for residents on Tuesday, with donations from Olive Garden and Bernatello’s Foods.
The Veterans Village provides stable, affordable housing for single veterans and veteran families to promote self-sufficiency and prevent homeless. The organization also offers support for physical and emotional needs, respectful end-of-life care for aging veterans, and a multi-generational community of support and understanding.
In addition to assisting veterans in the community, TDS also works to support veterans in its workforce. Employing approximately 250 veterans in 32 states, TDS offers special benefits and has an associate resource group geared toward helping veterans and military and law enforcement-oriented groups within the local communities TDS serves.
