Valuable Programming. Fair Pricing.

Thank you for choosing TDS as your entertainment provider. We are always working hard to bring you the latest technology and best programming options available.

One of the ways we do that is by being part of the National Cable Television Cooperative and American Cable Association. With these groups we work on your behalf to protect programming costs from unreasonable rate increases imposed by television networks and corporate broadcasters.

We feel it’s our responsibility to advocate on behalf of our customers since we’ve frequently heard your concerns about the rise in entertainment prices. We will continue working with the operator to negotiate a fair rate and keep the channels on the air. To stay up to date on any negotiations for channels in your area, please visit our blog.

TDS is currently in a contract dispute with Nexstar Media Group, which wants TDS to pay up to 129% more for programming. This kind of increase would negatively impact customers, so we’ve taken a stand and said no to their demands. Since Nexstar refused to extend talks and allow TDS to continue carrying the channels, we were forced to take down Nexstar-owned affiliate channels in select Tennessee and Indiana markets.

This is the first time we’ve been forced to take down a major affiliate station (like ABC, Fox, CBS). However, we feel strongly that by doing so, we are protecting our customers from unreasonable rate hikes. Hear about our fight for fair rates from TDS President and CEO, Jim Butman:
