Eight Wisconsin high school seniors receive WSTF scholarships

TDS Telecom (TDS®) presented eight Wisconsin high school seniors with Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF) scholarships earlier this month. The winners, including school name and scholarship amounts are:
Brandon Humboldt, Neillsville High School, $1,500
Lukas Paulick, Pittsville High School, $1,500
Theresa Evenson, Valders High School, $1,500
Sarah Scheiber, Howards Grove High School, $1,500
Alexander Morgan, River Ridge High School, $1,500
Jordon Esselman, Loyal High School, $500
Hannah Downs, Pittsville High School, $500
Jessica Ecker, Stockbridge High School, $500

Each year, local telephone companies — including TDS Telecom  participate in the WSTF scholarship program. The scholarships are available to high school seniors in the company’s service area. Applications are reviewed by WSTF volunteers who select finalists based on financial need, academic achievements, extracurricular activities and other criteria.

This year the WSTF is awarding more than $52,000 in scholarships. Since 1966 they’ve awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships.

The foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association, a trade organization representing more than 70 telephone companies, Internet service providers and wireless carriers in Wisconsin.
