TDS® expands, improves fiber network in Whitestown, Indiana

Faster Internet speeds and revolutionary TV service are coming to Whitestown, Indiana.

TDS Telecom (TDS®) is expanding its fiber network and making improvements to the existing fiber lines in town. The investment makes way for new and increased Internet speeds of 100 Mb, 300 Mb and 1 gigabit, and introduces TDS TV® to customers. That Internet Protocol (IP)-based TV and increased Internet speeds are expected to begin launching in September.

“With the success of TDS TV elsewhere across the country, we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to Whitestown,” says Julie Maiers, director of Marketing at TDS. “It means faster speeds, a new choice for TV service, and the opportunity for exclusive discounts.”

TDS is also bringing Fiberville™ to Whitestown. The concept rewards residents and neighborhoods with special offers and discounts once 15 percent of the neighborhood pre-registers for TDS TV service. When this happens, “Fiberville” status is achieved and each pre-registered household receives free HD for life.

“Fiberville offers residents a unique opportunity to get out and talk to their neighbors and to get extra savings for as long as they’re a TDS customer,” Maiers said. “It’s also a great chance to get fantastic TV service. Customers tell us how much they enjoy TDS TV, the included DVR, and how easy it is to use.”

TDS TV is powered by Mediaroom® and features more than 260 all-digital channels (including 100+ in HD), on-demand TV and movies, pay-per-view, and on-the-go viewing options with TDS TV Everywhere. With TDS TV Everywhere, customers can watch movies, shows, and live content for free from their mobile devices.

TDS TV includes a whole-home DVR, which links all TVs together in a home so customers can:
Record up to four shows at once in HD;
Connect up to 10 TVs to enable DVR functionality on all;
Schedule and playback recordings on any connected TV; and
Store up to 400 hours of programming (standard-definition).

Wireless set-top boxes are also available with TDS TV. Without being tethered to a cable jack, wireless set-top boxes allow customers the flexibility to move their TVs anywhere in a room—all that’s needed is a power outlet.

Residents can go to www.TDSfiber.com to get updates on when TDS TV and new Internet speeds will be available, as well as track their neighborhood’s progress toward Fiberville status.
