TDS® introduces 100Mbps Internet service in three more communities
TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) is proud to introduce 100Mbps Internet service in areas of Halls and La Vergne, Tenn. and Monticello, Minn. Nationwide, these areas are among the first places TDS is launching 100Mbps service. TDS is also introducing TDS TV in Halls.
“We’re really excited to bring super high-speed Internet service to these communities,” says Tony Bugher, Tony Bugher, associate manager of field marketing for TDS. “The speed really is unprecedented. It means residents now have access to some of the fastest Internet speeds available.”
The announcement comes on the heels of a recent Sandvine report showing Internet bandwidth usage in North America has increased 39 percent year-over-year since 2012. During the past nine months, TDS has been upgrading its fiber optic network to deliver the bandwidth that customers want and need. The project, part of a multi-million dollar investment by TDS, will also bring TDS TV to Halls residents. The new 100Mbps Internet is only available with TDS TV.
Powered by Microsoft® Mediaroom®, TDS TV features more than 260 all-digital channels (including HD), video-on-demand, pay-per-view, picture-in-picture channel surfing, and instant channel change. It also includes a Connected-Home DVR, which links up to four TVs together in a home.
“We’re still working to get more homes access to TDS TV and our new 100Mbps service,” Bugher said. “We have crews working in the community, probably through summer 2014 to expand the services to more customers in Farragut and Halls.”

Since first introducing TDS TV in 2008, TDS has invested about $25-30 million to deploy TV service technology across the country. In addition to being available Tenn. and Minn., TDS TV is also available in parts of Ga. and Wis.
