TDS® expands broadband pipe in central Wisconsin

TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) completes its network upgrade in central Wisconsin. The company constructed 12 miles of fiber to include diverse fiber circuits into the Auburndale and Medford areas. TDS invested nearly $600,000 in this upgrade to improve Internet services for customers in the Auburndale, Mosinee, Medford, Stetsonville, Necedah, Neillsville, Vesper, and Dorchester exchanges.

What it means, according to TDS, is that residents will have faster, more reliable Internet speeds.

“For our customers, this is great news,” says Al Ripp, market manager for TDS. “Faster speeds, greater reliability and a redundant route add up to greater service. We know it’s been a little bumpy for some customers the last few months. From this point moving forward, customers should be delighted with the upgraded system we’ve constructed.”

The upgrades in central Wisconsin are part of TDS’ multi-phase construction of the 10G network backbone across the United States.
