$2,000 scholarships awarded by Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation/TDS®
Calling all Minnesota High School seniors: Now’s the time to apply for $2,000 scholarships that will be awarded by the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation (MTA). TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) is once again participating in the MTA scholarship program.
Annually, five $2,000 scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors. To be eligible, applicants must be accepted at a post-secondary university, college, or technical college and be a Minnesota resident. In addition, the applicant’s family must subscribe to at least one TDS service. Applications are due to TDS by March 1, 2013. They are available at http://www.mnta.org/associations/11041/files/MTAFoundation-ScholarshipApp-2013.pdf
In late-March, the MTA Foundation will review all applications and select the finalists based on grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities. Preference is given to students with an interest in telecommunications technology and rural communities. Scholarships will be presented during the recipient’s high school graduation or awards night programs.
“We’re happy to have this chance to make an investment in our community by helping young people get a technical or college education,” says Jean Pauk, manager of State Government Affairs at TDS. “Being part of this project, which supports young people in the communities we serve, is a critical part of our mission to be good corporate citizens."
Applications must be submitted to Jean Pauk, TDS Telecom, 525 Junction Road, Madison, WI 53717 by March 1, 2013.
The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade that advocates and represents the interests of more than 80 telecommunications providers throughout Minnesota’s metropolitan and rural communities, including TDS.
