TDS® finishing Middleton, Wis. fiber project; more residents can access TDS TV

TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) is wrapping up the second phase of its fiber-optic cable project in the city of Middleton. Now, with the installation of nearly 30 miles of new fiber-optics complete, TDS’ network is prepared to connect about 70 percent of the households in Middleton to TDS TV.

“This fiber-optic project is part of a multi-million dollar investment by TDS to ensure Middleton residents have the Internet speeds necessary, for many years to come,” said Shane West, vice president of Consumer Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “They will also have the option to be connected to all-digital television technology.”

In August 2012, TDS announced it was launching TDS TV. Today’s announcement means more Middleton residents now have access TDS TV and, in some areas, speeds up to 50 Mbps. “In fact, some residents will soon have access to speeds up to 100 Mbps with TDS TV service,” West explains.

“Our crews are working as quickly as possible to complete the work so that more people can take advantage of the faster speeds,” West said. “In the meantime, we’re excited to offer more Middleton residents TDS TV, now considered to be the most technologically advanced TV service available.”
