Kathy Cefalu named VP Human Resources at TDS®

Veteran employee will oversee all aspects of TDS’ HR department.

Madison-based TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®), announced today that Kathy Cefalu is the company’s new vice president of Human Resources. Cefalu will remain at the company’s headquarters on Junction Road in Madison. She will replace Mike Pandow, a 31-year TDS employee, who announced his retirement in June.

A Madison area native, Cefalu grew up in Monona, Wis., and now resides in Waunakee, Wis. Cefalu started her career with TDS in Aug. 1985 as an employee benefits administrator. She has held numerous positions during her nearly 30 years with the company, including significant leadership roles in marketing, regional operations, network operations and human resources. Cefalu consistently excels, having earned TDS’ Inspiring Excellence award numerous times throughout her career. 

“Kathy is an excellent addition to our leadership team,” states Dave Wittwer, president and CEO at TDS. “She has the experience, the skills and the relationships to take the helm and lead our Human Resources group and provide strategic guidance for the entire organization.”

In her new role, Cefalu will lead the company’s Human Resources group which includes employee relations, recruiting and retention, compensation, benefits, training and development, and the rewards and recognition program.

Outside of her work at TDS, Cefalu is an active member of the Waunakee Police Committee and Police Commission and Waunakee Rotary. She also volunteers for the Waunakee Food Pantry and the Scholarship Committee.

Cefalu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin—Platteville and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Edgewood College. In addition, Cefalu has earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP).
