Alpine, Texas converted to digital TV service
Customers will receive two free digital set-top boxes
ALPINE, Texas (March 31, 2016) – TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) announced a game-changer for its customers in Alpine, Texas, today.
TDS will complete the digital conversion of its remaining analog cable channels in early May. The conversion of analog video signals to more efficient digital signals will free up bandwidth to increase high-definition (HD) video services and improve digital voice and data services in the future.
It is important for customers to order a new digital set-top box for each TV before April 12, to allow adequate time for activation and avoid service disruption. Customers will get two set-top boxes free for six months.
“We’re confident our customers will be pleased with the upgraded TV service,” said Shane West, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. “Digital TV provides access to more TV channels, advanced set-top boxes with whole-home DVR functionality, more channels in high definition and TV Everywhere.”
TDS has been making improvements in the Alpine market since last year, launching fast Internet with speeds up to 100Mbps, digital cable with high-definition and DVR options, and digital phone with unlimited nationwide calling. CatchTV™, the company’s whole-home entertainment product, was launched in August.
“We want to provide all of our customers with the most innovative products and services we have to offer,” West said. “This conversion is a part of that exciting process.”
Customers are being asked to call 1-855-696-8375 to order the digital set-top boxes well in advance of the analog service conversion. The set-top boxes work on standard- and high-definition televisions.
