Three Wisconsin communities receive TDS Fiber-Fast Community awards to mark end of construction

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has presented its first TDS Fiber-Fast Community designation to three Fox Valley municipalities. The new award marks the completion of TDS’ fiber internet network and recognizes residents’ and businesses’ access to world-class internet.

TDS has wrapped up major construction activities in Little Chute, Kimberly, and Combined Locks as it continues building its network throughout the Fox Valley. In those three communities, crews built 130 miles of fiber to serve more than 9,200 homes and businesses.

The TDS Fiber-Fast Community Award not only recognizes the end of construction but certifies that these communities are home to some of the fastest internet speeds in the world – a huge benefit for current residents and businesses. It also serves as a signal for companies and others outside the community looking for new locations to consider. The awards were presented at an event Thursday, June 1, at the Heart of the Valley Chamber.

“TDS has been part of the Fox Cities since 1998. But over the past few years, we’ve deepened our commitment to the region and worked tirelessly to bring high-speed, reliable internet connections to tens of thousands of residents and businesses,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We thank local officials, residents, and businesses for their patience and cooperation during construction and look forward to serving the community for many years to come.”

TDS’ fiber network – funded completely through a private investment of tens of millions of dollars -- features speeds up to 8Gig, allowing customers to upload and download files of any size nearly instantaneously. 10Gig dedicated connections are available for businesses.

In addition to fast internet, TDS TV’ product, TDS TV®+, offers local and national networks, integration with popular streaming services, the ability to start shows over, and cloud DVR. Phone packages and service bundles are also available.

The Madison, Wisconsin-based company is excited to be naming more TDS Fiber-Fast Communities in the coming weeks and months. TDS is expanding its fiber network to nearly 100 communities, which also includes Appleton, Harrison, Kaukauna, Menasha, Neenah, Grand Chute, and Fox Crossing.
