TDS teams up with firefighters and police to raise $25K for Billings youth hockey program
TDS sponsored the annual Guns and Hoses Hockey Fundraiser in Billings.
BILLINGS, Mont. - TDS was proud to be the presenting sponsor of the third annual Guns & Hoses charity hockey game between Billings firefighters and law enforcement. The two sides faced off in April at the Centennial Ice Arena to benefit the Billings Amateur Hockey League (BAHL) and raised $25,000 for local youth hockey programming, organizers announced today.
The support comes at a critical time for the BAHL, as the organization prepares to move operations to the new, cutting-edge Signal Peak Energy Arena. TDS contributed $50,000 to sponsor a community room in the new facility that will host meetings, gatherings and celebrations.
"TDS is committed to giving back to the communities we serve, and we are proud to support the BAHL in its mission to make youth hockey accessible to all," said Sarah Schroefel, TDS associate manager of field marketing. "It is an exciting time for the local hockey community and we’re looking forward to the opening of the Signal Peak Energy Arena."
The new arena will be in an optimal location to serve the greater Billings community and to bring hockey to more residents. BAHL President Monica Anderson said the new facility will benefit hockey lovers of all ages.
“There is a lot of excitement and new opportunity,” said Anderson. “We can get back to focusing on the youth hockey program and growing that.”
The Signal Peak Energy Arena is expected to complete construction later this year as TDS continues growing its fiber internet network across Montana. The company now serves thousands of customers in Billings, with services expanding to Laurel and Lockwood in the near future.
