TDS expanding 1Gig broadband to Boise, Idaho
TDS Telecom (TDS®) unveiled plans to expand its fiber-to-the-home network to homes and businesses in Boise, Idaho. TDS will offer residential customers up to one gigabit internet speeds, TDS’ all-digital TV service, TDS TV®+, and phone options. Businesses will have the option to receive up to 10 gigabit connections, dedicated fiber, and TDS’ hosted VoIP business phone solution, managedIP.
“TDS offers the reliable experience and fast speeds that are so vital in today’s world,” said Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “Fiber delivers the bandwidth customers need to work at home, go to school, and stay in touch with family and friends remotely.”
Last April, TDS announced plans to build a fiber network in the communities of Meridian, Garden City, and parts of Ada County. The company expects the first customers in Boise will be connected this summer. Services will continue to launch in phases until the build is complete.
The project will include installing fiber-to-the-home connections and laying underground fiber in neighborhoods and business parks.
TDS recently launched services to the first customers in Meridian, with more neighborhoods scheduled to be connected in the coming months.
“We’re so pleased to begin connecting residents to our symmetrical gigabit internet speeds, along with cutting-edge TV and voice service,” said Maiers.
TDS’ expansion into the Treasure Valley has created new job opportunities. New positions in sales and technical services are currently posted on the company’s website.
Area residents can visit www.tdsfiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
