TDS is bringing high-speed fiber connections to Hillsboro, Indiana
More than 300 addresses to get 1Gig connections
TDS Telecommunications, LLC (TDS®) is upgrading its network to bring fiber connections to Hillsboro, Indiana. The project will deliver up to 1Gig speeds to residents and dedicated 10Gig to businesses. Beyond delivering super-fast internet, TDS’ fiber network will introduce a new TV service option to the community, as the company will also launch TDS TV®+ as part of the network upgrade. The build is expected to break ground this spring to the approximately 300 Hillsboro addresses included in the build area.
“Fiber connections are a gamechanger because they’re so fast and reliable,” says Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Drew Petersen. “We’re excited to get started on this infrastructure project and to connect the first customers later this year.”
Construction will include burying conduit and fiber cable in public utility easement areas and hanging cable on utility poles. The new products and services will become available to customers gradually as sections of the network are completed.
TDS fiber networks offer residential customers symmetrical internet speeds, meaning that upload and download speeds are identical. A variety of internet options will be available, with the highest being 1Gig (1,000Mbps). Residents can also choose service bundles including TDS TV®+, the company’s full-featured TV product that integrates with popular streaming services, and phone. TDS offers businesses up to 10Gig dedicated connections with a service level agreement, TDS TV+, and managed IP—TDS’ hosted VoIP communications solution.
