TDS Telecom launches service in Fond du Lac
Longtime Wisconsin-based internet provider powers up another community with its high-speed network
FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin – As TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) continues construction of its high-speed internet network, the company has launched service to its first Fond du Lac neighborhood.
The all-fiber TDS network features speeds up to 8Gig – some of the fastest internet speeds in the nation and quick enough to download or upload a file of any size nearly instantly. The project also brings a new TV provider to Fond du Lac, with the company’s full-featured TDS TV®+ product available to both residents and businesses.
“TDS continues to make great progress on construction of our network in Fond du Lac and throughout northeastern Wisconsin. We’re excited to serve Fond du Lac homes and businesses with fast, reliable internet for years to come,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
TDS field service technicians working in the 400 block of Bragg Street connected first customer Austin Maddix on Monday. Built in phases, residents can connect to the new network once work is completed in their neighborhood. When construction is completed, service will be available to more than 18,000 Fond du Lac homes and businesses.
More than 50 years after beginning operations, Madison-based TDS has become a national leader in fiber-optic internet. In addition to Fond du Lac, the company has projects under way in the Fox Cities, Sheboygan County, Green Bay, Manitowoc, and other areas of the state.
TDS and its subsidiary TDS Metrocom LLC is a participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Qualified ACP customers can receive symmetrical speeds up to 200Mbps at no cost with the company’s TDS Connect product.
Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
