TDS Telecom hiring field service summer interns in 16 communities

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is expanding its annual Field Service Technician (FST) Internship Program this summer to 16 communities nationwide. For more than 3 years, the FST Internship Program has been a resource for growing professionals to get real industry experience working with cutting edge technology in the telecommunications industry.

The FST program offers paid internship positions to local students and developing professionals in the TDS footprint who are interested in a potential career in the telecommunications industry. Interns will be matched with mentors to maximize learning experiences and professional development. During the internship, they will assist with onsite installation, troubleshooting, and repairs and maintenance of telecommunications products, services, and equipment provided to our residential and commercial customers.

“The program has been a wonderful way to introduce young talent to our industry,” said TDS Vice President of Field Services Andrew Buchert. “We have been fortunate to create strong working relationships between our high school interns and their mentors, and in some cases, we have seen those interns convert to full-time employees after they graduate from high school.”

The FST program is currently hiring 21 interns in 16 communities across nine states this summer. The locations include:

·       Meridian, Idaho

·       Helena, Montana

·       Monticello, Minnesota

·       Spokane, Washington

·       Carlsbad, New Mexico

·       New London, Minnesota

·       Pequot Lakes, Minnesota

·       Saint Marys, Georgia

·       Waunakee, Wisconsin

·       Verona, Wisconsin

·       Edwards, New York

·       Lewisport, Kentucky

·       New Berlin, Wisconsin

·       Janesville, Wisconsin

·       Blue Ridge, Georgia

·       Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Field Service interns will work between 15 to 30 hours a week with a competitive base rate pay of $15 an hour, plus health benefits. Additionally, as a member of the TDS community, interns will have access to the Intern Associate Resource Group (ARG), which provides support and opportunities for development and advancement.

“Field Services interns receive valuable on-the-job experience by working side-by-side with a FST mentor,” said Nicole Ellis, TDS Talent Acquisition Specialist. “In this role, they will gain an understanding of how we deliver our products and services on time to our customers and provide exceptional customer service!”

The FST Internship Program has been proven to prepare interns for future opportunities, whether it is with TDS Telecom, in the telecommunications industry, or for other professional opportunities.
