TDS connects first customer in Missoula
MISSOULA, Montana – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is pleased to announce it has connected its first customer in Missoula to its all-fiber, high-speed internet service. This event marks another milestone in the company’s fiber network expansion to more than a handful of communities in the Treasure State.
“We are aggressively connecting customers in Montana to what they want and deserve: a reliable network that delivers some of the fastest internet speeds in the country,” said Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen.
The TDS fiber network features speeds up to 8 Gig, allowing customers to download and upload a file of any size nearly instantly. The network also features a variety of phone and digital TV options, plus dedicated connections for businesses of up to 10 Gig.
The first customer, a homeowner on Fleet Street, was connected Monday morning and received a gift basket from TDS associates.
“This is an exciting day for us in Missoula; TDS’ future-proof and resilient internet is available to residents,” said Ryan Corwin, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing in Missoula. “We thank those who have pre-registered and look forward to connecting more homes and businesses in the months ahead.”
Built in phases, residents can connect to the new network once work is completed in their neighborhood. TDS is also building its fiber network in Helena, Helena Valley, Butte, Great Falls, and Billings.
Missoula residents and business owners who would like to learn more about TDS and its plans for the community are invited to a Fiber Forum on Tuesday, April 16. The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Missoula Public Library, 455 E. Main St., in Cooper Room Space B.
TDS representatives will be on hand to discuss the benefits of fiber, the network construction process, available services, and more.
