TDS Telecom begins Post Falls expansion
POST FALLS, Idaho – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is expanding its high-speed all-fiber network in the Coeur d’Alene area, with new construction beginning this week in Post Falls.
The initial work will bring service to more than 700 addresses in Post Falls, with further expansions for the area planned in the future.
“We’re excited to bring state-of-the-art fiber services to even more homes and businesses in North Idaho. This private investment expands on our commitment to the Coeur d’Alene area and furthers our goals of helping enable economic development, business growth, and better connections for school, work, and entertainment,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
“The continued expansion of TDS’ fiber network in the City of Post Falls will enable citizens and businesses to have greater choices and options for their high-speed internet. Whether it’s for business networking, working from home, or clearer video streaming, we all benefit from faster speeds and choice of providers,” said Bob Seale, City of Post Falls Community Development Director.
TDS’ fiber network features speeds up to 8 Gig, allowing customers to upload and download files of any size nearly instantaneously. 10 Gig dedicated connections are available for businesses.
In addition to fast internet, TDS TV’ product, TDS TV®+, offers local and national networks, integration with popular streaming services, the ability to start shows over, and cloud DVR. Phone packages and service bundles are also available.
“Access to fast and reliable internet is indispensable for the success of modern businesses. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to TDS for their diligent efforts in expanding fiber infrastructure in Post Falls. Their commitment to enhancing connectivity ensures that businesses thrive and communities prosper in an increasingly digital world,” said Christina Petit, Post Falls Chamber president and CEO.
Last year, TDS completed major construction activities in Coeur d’Alene and recognized the city as a TDS Fiber-Fast Community. Crews built about 113 miles of fiber to serve more than 20,000 homes and businesses.
“We’re proud to be part of the community, and given the significance of our project, we are utilizing internal construction crews with local workers to build the network as efficiently as possible,” Petersen said.
