City of Coeur d’Alene receives TDS Fiber-Fast Community Award to mark end of construction
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has presented the TDS Fiber-Fast Community designation to the City of Coeur d’Alene. The award marks the completion of TDS’ fiber internet network and recognizes residents’ and businesses’ access to world-class internet.
TDS has wrapped up major construction activities in Coeur d’Alene as it continues work in other North Idaho communities including Post Falls, Rathdrum, and Hayden Lake. In CDA, crews built about 113 miles of fiber to serve more than 17,000 homes and businesses.
The TDS Fiber-Fast Community Award not only recognizes the end of construction but certifies the community is home to some of the fastest internet speeds in the world – a huge benefit for current residents and businesses. It also serves as a signal for companies and others outside the community looking for new locations to consider.
The award was presented at an event with Mayor Jim Hammond on Wednesday, June 14. Linda Coppess, president and CEO of the Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber, also accepted an award on behalf of the chamber.

We also thank local officials and the community for their patience during construction. We look forward to serving Coeur d’Alene for many years to come.”

TDS is excited to be naming more TDS Fiber-Fast Communities in the coming weeks and months. TDS is expanding its fiber network to nearly 100 communities, which also includes Post Falls, Rathdrum, and Hayden Lake.
