TDS formally opens retail stores in Helena, Great Falls
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) celebrated the opening of retail stores in Helena and Great Falls this week, marking another milestone in TDS’ fiber internet expansion in Montana.
TDS held ribbon-cutting ceremonies Monday in Great Falls, at the store located at 415 3rd St. NW, and Tuesday in Helena, at 2030 Cromwell Dixon Lane. TDS Chief Operating Officer Shane West joined local officials and residents to formally open each store, which serves as a physical location to access TDS products and services and speak with company associates.
In addition to Helena and Great Falls, TDS is building high-speed internet networks in Billings, Butte, and Missoula. The networks feature speeds up to 8 Gig, as well as TV and phone service.
“Montana is a major focus for TDS. For too long, the state has been underserved when it comes to high-speed broadband. We’re working hard to change that, and we’re excited to continue expanding to more neighborhoods and reach even more residents and businesses,” West said.
At the events, TDS also presented a pair of donations to local nonprofits: the Great Falls Area Community Foundation and the Friendship Center in Helena.
“As a family-operated company that’s been in business for more than 50 years, helping the areas we serve is a core part of our mission. We’re pleased to support these great nonprofits that are working tirelessly to help people in need and making a difference in the community,” West said.
Although the Federal Communications Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program has ended, TDS continues to offer a low-cost internet option called TDS Connect that delivers 200/200 Mbps service. TDS is funding its Montana projects entirely through a private capital investment.
TDS has begun connecting residents to service and continues working to expand its network to more neighborhoods. Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
