TDS presents Spokane Hometown Hero Award
Spokane, Washington – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) surprised a longtime group of volunteers in Spokane with a Hometown Hero Award.
The Vanessa Behan Auxiliary Board operates the annual Santa Express, a holiday shopping experience in which children learn the value of giving to others by shopping for gifts for family, friends, and teachers. Over the years, volunteers have raised approximately $2.3 million to support the work of Vanessa Behan, which provides immediate refuge for children and support to strengthen families.
On Thursday, TDS representatives recognized their efforts with a Hometown Hero Award, which honors those making a difference in the community and especially aims to highlight unsung heroes.
“We are excited to shine a light on the Vanessa Behan Auxiliary Board, whose members are truly heroes helping make the holidays a meaningful and special time for kids. It’s our honor to present this award to say thank you for everything this group has done to help Vanessa Behan and children in Spokane,” said Heather Latta, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing.
Also, as part of the presentation, TDS made a $1,000 donation to Vanessa Behan.
