TDS presents Hometown Hero Award to Discover Green Bay

TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) presented its TDS Hometown Hero Award to Discover Green Bay in recognition of the organization’s tireless efforts surrounding the NFL Draft.

The TDS Hometown Hero Award honors those making a difference in the community, and it especially aims to recognize our unsung heroes. A presentation took place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the TDS retail store featuring Brad Toll, president and CEO of Discover Green Bay.

Discover Green Bay has been on the front lines of the draft preparations, helping coordinate activities, accommodations, and other logistics needed for an event expected to draw some 240,000 people to the area. The organization projects the draft to have an economic impact of $20 million locally and $94 million statewide.

The Hometown Hero event also included a donation to Experience Greater Green Bay, a nonprofit connected to Discover Green Bay that helps develop future tourism and hospitality workforce through education and training.
