TDS connects first customer in Butte, Montana

BUTTE, Montana – TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has connected the first local customer to its all-fiber, high-speed internet network.

TDS associates presented Paul Radoicich with a gift basket as they walked through the installation of telecommunications services on the Flats on Ottawa Street near Harrison Ave. The TDS network includes speeds up to 8 Gig, sophisticated TV services, a variety of phone options, and 10 Gig dedicated connections for businesses.

The installation comes about a week after TDS celebrated the opening of its new Butte warehouse and office space with a ribbon cutting event featuring Gov. Greg Gianforte and TDS President and CEO Jim Butman.

“We’re pleased to take another step in our efforts to connect Butte homes and businesses with world-class broadband services. We thank the community for their patience during construction and look forward to connecting more customers in the weeks and months to come,” said Tom Cronnelly, associate manager of Field Marketing in Butte.

The project is part of TDS’ capital investment in Montana of nearly $160 million to provide fiber internet services in Billings, Great Falls, Helena, Helena Valley, Missoula, and Butte.

TDS, operating as TDS Metrocom LLC, is a family-operated company founded in 1969. Residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
