TDS Telecom donates $20K to local food pantries
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is responding to the record demand at local food pantries with $20,000 in donations. The Madison, Wisconsin-based telecommunications company is making eight $2,500 donations to assist thousands of families who may be faced with food insecurities this winter. The gift is part of the company’s Week of Giving campaign, which is culminating in what it’s calling Food Pantry Friday. The new campaign is part of the TDS Cares initiative that benefited more than 100 organizations this week throughout the country.
“We know many families are struggling and at TDS, we want to help by donating directly to our local food panties that do an amazing job feeding our communities,” said Drew Petersen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs.
The TDS Communications team is visiting the following food pantries for individual check presentations:
- Oregon Area Food Pantry
- Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry
- Fitz Food Pantry at the Goodman Community Center
- Badger Prairie Needs Network
- Middleton Outreach Ministry
- The River Food Pantry
- Lussier Community Education Center Pantry
- Waunakee Ecumenical Board
In addition, TDS was proud to do a $3,500 sponsorship to the NBC15 Share Your Holidays campaign to benefit Second Harvest Foodbank in Madison.
Helping the communities where TDS serves is an important part of the company’s mission. In addition to these donations, TDS also provides associates with 16 hours of paid time off every year to volunteer at the 501(c)(3) organization of their choice through its Be Good Citizens program.
