Construction on TDS fiber internet network begins in Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wisconsin – Work is under way to connect Whitewater residents to some of the fastest internet speeds in the country.

TDS has begun construction on its high-speed, all-fiber internet network, which will give residents access to internet speeds of up to 8Gig plus a new choice for TV and phone service. The network will serve about 3,800 addresses.

Built in phases, residents can connect to the new network once work is completed in their neighborhood. Residents will be notified in several ways before construction starts, including signage and by postcard, letter, and door hanger. Contractors will work to minimize disruptions to neighborhoods and restore any areas impacted by the burying of fiber-optic cable.

“The start of construction marks another exciting step forward as we work to better connect residents and businesses in Whitewater and throughout Wisconsin,” said Andrew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We look forward to serving Whitewater for years to come.”

Headquartered in Madison, TDS is making a major fiber network expansion in Wisconsin with projects in development in virtually every corner of the state.
