TDS completes construction in several Maine communities, makes nonprofit donations
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) continues to make progress on its Maine fiber internet expansion, wrapping up construction in several communities.
TDS has now completed all-fiber, high-speed networks in Athens, Embden Lake, Etna, Harmony, Weld, West Ripley, Hampden, Hartland, and Warren. Construction continues in several other communities in Somerset and Franklin counties.
“We continue working to upgrade local infrastructure and do our part to make our communities a great place to live and work,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We’re proud of our investment in Maine and look forward to connecting even more residents and businesses to high-speed, reliable internet.”
To mark the construction milestone, TDS made donations to two nonprofits: Penquis, which works to alleviate and eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty; and Good Shepherd Food Bank, which maintains a distribution center in Hampden.
“TDS has served Maine since 1971. Giving back to the communities it serves is an essential part of our mission, and we’re excited to support great local organizations that help people in need,” said Tyler Hunsaker, TDS Regional Manager of Field Marketing.
TDS is a participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Qualified ACP customers can receive symmetrical speeds up to 200Mbps at no cost with the company’s TDS Connect product.
