TDS bringing high-speed fiber connections to Blanchardville, Wisconsin

Fiber-to-the-home network will bring up to 8 Gig internet

TDS Telecommunications, LLC (TDS®) is upgrading its Blanchardville, Wisconsin network to fiber-optic technology. The project, which is expected to launch to customers next spring, will bring up to 8 Gig internet speeds to all addresses included in the build. Dedicated 10 Gig connections will also be available with a service level agreement for commercial customers.

“Fiber infrastructure is the technology people want because it delivers fast, reliable internet connections today and is considered future-proof for tomorrow,” says Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Drew Petersen. “We’ve been a proud provider in Blanchardville for 27 years and we’re excited about this latest investment in the community.”

Madison-headquartered TDS is funding the entire upgrade project that will benefit about 500 Blanchardville addresses. Construction includes burying conduit and fiber cable in public utility easement areas and hanging cable on utility poles.

Over fiber, TDS offers symmetrical internet speeds, which means upload and download speeds are identical. A variety of internet options will be available, and residents can also choose service bundles including TDS TV®+, the company’s full-featured TV product that integrates with popular streaming services, and phone. TDS offers businesses up to 10 Gig dedicated connections with a service level agreement, TDS TV+, and managed IP—TDS’ hosted VoIP communications solution.

TDS customers in Blanchardville are encouraged to explore whether they are eligible for discounted rates through the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). An estimated 40% of U.S. households qualify to receive this benefit to reduce the cost of internet access. The ACP benefit provides eligible households with up to a $30/month credit and up to $75/month credit in tribal areas. TDS offers internet options that are 100% covered by the ACP benefit—including up to 200 Mbps fiber connections when available.

Beyond Blanchardville, TDS is also building all-fiber networks in nearby Dodgeville and Mineral Point. Residents interested in learning more about TDS fiber services can visit TDSFiber.com for more information. Visit tdstelecom.com/careers to view career opportunities at TDS.
