TDS designates Milton, Wis., an official Fiber-Fast Community
Completion of all-fiber network brings upgraded connectivity to about 2,700 addresses; company marks milestone with $1,000 gift to KANDU Industries
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has named Milton its newest Fiber-Fast Community following the completion of an all-fiber network expansion that brings high-speed internet options to homes and businesses across the community. The company recognized the milestone by presenting a $1,000 donation to Milton’s KANDU Industries.
“Milton is an important part of our continued investment in Wisconsin communities,” said TDS Senior Vice President of External Affairs Drew Petersen. “This completed fiber connection project gives more residents and businesses access to fast, dependable fiber service designed to support the way people work, learn, stream, and stay connected today.”
The Milton project included the installation of 44 miles of fiber and reached approximately 2,700 addresses. Customers in the build area can access symmetrical internet speeds up to 8 Gig, along with TV and phone options from TDS. TDS also offers mobile phone plans that can be bundled with other services.
The Fiber-Fast Community designation recognizes communities where TDS has completed the buildout of advanced fiber infrastructure, giving residents and businesses access to some of the company’s fastest-available connections. TDS marked the occasion with a $1,000 donation to KANDU Industries, an organization it has supported in a variety of ways since the company broke ground on its Janesville project in 2022.
"We are so thankful for TDS and their commitment to KANDU. Their support helps us continue providing life-changing opportunities for the people we serve,” said Executive Director of KANDU Industries Kathy Hansen. “We couldn't do it without community partners like them."
TDS’ contribution underscores the company’s commitment to pairing infrastructure investment with support for the communities it serves.
“We’re also proud to support organizations that make a difference locally,” Petersen said. “KANDU Industries provides valuable services and opportunities in the region, and we’re pleased to recognize their work as part of this celebration.”
The Madison-based company has served customers in Wisconsin for more than 56 years and continues to expand fiber access in communities across the state. Residents interested in learning more about TDS services can visit tds.com.
