TDS seeking nominations of Southern Utah Veterans for Hometown Hero Award

TDS to honor local veteran at Utah Tech University football game

ST. GEORGE, UTAH (July 31, 1, 2025) — TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is seeking nominations of inspiring veterans for its St. George Hometown Hero Award, with the winner to be recognized at an upcoming Utah Tech University football game, during military appreciation night.

The TDS Hometown Hero program honors residents making a difference in their community, and it especially aims to recognize unsung heroes. This fall, the local high-speed internet, phone, and TV provider is searching for a Hometown Hero who has served in the military or is a first responder, and who is actively involved in the St. George community.

The award includes:

  • A $1,000 donation to a veterans-related nonprofit organization.
  • A VIP fan experience and on-field recognition during military appreciation night at Utah Tech’s Saturday, Sept. 20 football game.
  • A gift basket valued at $200.

Anyone wishing to nominate a local veteran or military member for this honor can visit this link. Nominations will be accepted until Sept. 1.

“TDS is proud to support community members through the Hometown Hero Award, and we are honored to support a local veteran for their service this September in St. George,” said Cindy Powell, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing.
