TDS celebrates end of construction with charitable donation, Fiber-Fast Community Awards

To celebrate the completion of its fiber internet network project, TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) presented the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center with a $500 donation. The check presentation took place at an event where the company also designated Mooresville an official TDS Fiber-Fast Community.

TDS’ mission is to provide high-quality communication services and one of its core values is investing in the communities it serves. Amy Stevens, the director of development at Dove House, was present at the Fiber-Fast event.

“We are so grateful to TDS for this generous donation,” said Stevens. “Their support not only improves our ability to minimize child trauma, but it also reaffirms their commitment to fostering positivity and safety in our community.”

At the event, TDS also presented its Fiber-Fast Community designation to the city of Mooresville. The award marks the completion of TDS’ fiber network project and recognizes residents’ and businesses’ access to reliable, world-class internet.

With the completion of major construction activities in Mooresville, the fiber network now provides more than 12,000 additional homes and businesses access to lightning-fast internet speeds up to 8 Gig. The official Fiber-Fast Community designation serves as a signal for company owners, area residents, and others looking for new locations to build a business or grow their families.

TDS presented awards to both the local chamber and Mooresville Mayor Chris Carney on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Kirk Ballard, president of the Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber of Commerce, accepted the award on behalf of the chamber.

“Completing this project would not have been possible without the patience and support of Mooresville’s wonderful local officials and community members. We look forward to serving the community for many years to come,” added Jill Kerswell, TDS associate manager of Field Marketing.

With speeds up to 8 Gig, TDS’ fiber network allows customers to upload and download files of any size nearly instantaneously. 10 Gig dedicated connections are available for businesses. In addition to fast internet, TDS TV’ product, TDS TV+, offers local and national networks, integration with popular streaming services, the ability to start shows over, and cloud DVR. Phone packages and service bundles are also available. For more information on services available and to sign up, visit tdstelecom.com.
