TDS offering 1Gig internet in Monticello, Wisconsin for the first time

Fiber-based service now available to more than 650 addresses

It has been a year in the making, but TDS Telecom’s (TDS®) new fiber-to-the-home network is now available to Monticello residents. Up to 1Gig internet service has launched to more than 650 addresses. The new availability also brings upload speeds up to 400Mbps with no data caps. TDS will continue to offer TDS TV®, their all-digital TV offering, as well as phone service.

“This launch represents our continued investment in Monticello, a community we’ve been proud to serve for 24 years,” says Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “Fiber-to-the-home technology means internet speeds up to 1Gbps  providing a reliable, consistently superior internet experience no matter what you, your family, or your business need and want to do online.”

A variety of internet packages are available as stand-alone services, however, bundle pricing is available to customers who would like to add TDS TV and/or phone service.

Business customers in the fiber footprint can also order TDS TV, internet access and transport connections up to 10Gig via dedicated fiber, and TDS managedIP, a hosted VoIP communications solution.

“Fiber-based internet is often called ‘future proof’ because it can provide more bandwidth at greater distances and speeds than traditional cable infrastructure,” says Maiers. “We’re so pleased to bring this world-class technology to Monticello.”

TDS is also in the final stages of completing its Wisconsin Broadband Grant project impacting rural addresses in the Monticello and New Glarus area. Launching at the end of May, 398 locations will receive broadband speeds up to 25Mbps.

Monticello residents can visit TDSFiber.com to see if their address is included in the fiber build and order service.
