TDS bringing 2Gig fiber to Great Falls, Montana
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) is excited to announce it will be bringing an all-fiber broadband network to Great Falls, Montana.
TDS plans to construct its network and connect homes and businesses in Great Falls. When complete, TDS will deliver symmetrical internet speeds up to 2Gig (2000 Mbps), TDS’ all-digital TV service, TDS TV®+, and phone options.
“The pandemic has made it abundantly clear fiber networks are in high demand,” says Andrew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “Great Falls is the third city TDS will be constructing a resilient and highly reliable fiber network in the Treasure State. We are absolutely delighted to be here and, more importantly, to help the residents of this great community ready their homes with technology products and services for the future.”
City of Great Falls Mayor Bob Kelly stated TDS is a welcome addition to the Great Falls community. "Expanded access to high-speed internet will positively contribute to our businesses and residents' social and economic growth," he said.
In August 2021, TDS announced the construction of a fiber-to-the-home network in Billings, Montana and earlier this month in Helena. The network in Billings and Helena will ultimately connect homes and businesses.
TDS' expansion into Great Falls will create new job opportunities, with new positions now posted on the company’s website at tdstelecom.com/careers.
The network will be made available to residents in phases, as the build work is completed neighborhood by neighborhood. Area residents can visit www.tdsfiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
With speeds up to 2Gig, it will be possible to download a typical two-hour, 4K movie in under a minute.
