Apply today – $2,000 scholarships are available for Minnesota high school seniors
Scholarships to be awarded by Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation and TDS.
If you know a Minnesota high school senior, encourage him or her to apply for a Minnesota Telecom Alliance (MTA) scholarship. TDS Telecom (TDS), incumbent telephone companies, and cooperatives across Minnesota are joining forces with the MTA to offer six $2,000 scholarships.
“It’s a great feeling to support young adults on their journey to higher education in the areas our company serves,” says Jean Pauk, State Government Affairs manager at TDS. “Financing college can be daunting for students, we are proud to help minimize this burden.”
Interested high school seniors can pick up an application from their high school guidance counselor or apply online. To be eligible, applicants must have post-secondary education plans to attend a university, college, or technical college and be a Minnesota resident. In addition, the applicant’s family must subscribe to at least one TDS service. Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 22, 2019 to be eligible.
A telecom alliance panel reviews each application and selects the finalists based on applicants’ grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities. Preference to receive the scholarships is given to students who have an interest in telecommunications technology and rural communities.
The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade association representing more than 44 telecommunications providers in the state, including TDS.
NOTE: TDS Telecom applicants should forward their application to Jean Pauk c/o TDS Telecom, 525 Junction Rd, Madison, WI 53717 by February 22, 2019.
