TDS’ Remote PC Support adds mobile support plus help via live-stream

Technicians assist customers with device setup, internet troubleshooting, and more

TDS Telecommunications Corp. announced today the addition of mobile support to the Remote PC Support service.

With nearly two-thirds of Americans owning a smartphone and almost half owning a tablet, there are approximately 371 million mobile devices in people’s hands and pockets. Variations in age, brands, and operating systems, can make maintaining this technology a challenge. To make it easy to keep these smartphones and tablets running their best, TDS now offers mobile support to its Remote PC Support service.

“Today’s mobile devices frequently have the processing power of many desktop or laptop computers,” said Julie Maiers, director of Consumer Marketing for TDS Telecommunications Corp. “Helping customers with their smartphones and tablets is a natural extension of what we already do.”

Remote PC Support is a subscription service that provides unlimited technical assistance to customers. With a subscription to Remote PC Support, technical experts provide the support needed to repair, protect, and optimize customer computers for the best performance. Help is provided over the phone, using live web chat, and now, via live streaming.

Customers can download a free app to most mobile devices and use the camera to show TDS Remote PC Advisors the trouble, rather than explaining what they are seeing.

“We’ve said that Remote PC Support solves problems right before our customer’s eyes, but we’re taking that a step further with live-streaming help,” Maiers said. “With our customers using their cameras, now our Advisors can actually see beyond what’s happening on the computer to how devices are connected.”

The mobile support and live-stream help features are being added to Remote PC Support at no additional cost. A subscription to the service also includes unlimited help with a variety of computer-related issues, including:

  • PC Safety – Removal of any computer bugs resulting from pop-ups, spyware and viruses to help keep the computer safe
  • PC Optimization – Computer tune ups to restore like-new performance
  • Device Setup - Assistance setting up printers, iPad® or other tablets, digital cameras, gaming systems or other compatible devices
  • Internet Troubleshooting – Optimization of Internet settings, configurations, and more
