BendBroadband launches 600Mbps high-speed internet service

New product offers faster upload speeds for gamers, movie buffs and connected homes

High speed broadband is in high demand across the nation. Recent investments by local cable and internet provider BendBroadband, now puts Central Oregon with some of the fastest broadband speeds available.

The average household in the U.S. now has more than seven devices connected to the internet at any given time, with six percent of households having more than 15 active devices, according to a report from CED magazine.

BendBroadband Ultra 600 provides customers up to 600 Megabits per second (Mbps) download and up to 20 Mbps upload speed to download movies, television shows, music and video games in seconds compared to minutes. BendBroadband is delivering this new service via DOCSIS 3.0 technology over Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) and Radio Frequency over Glass (RFoG) plants.

“BendBroadband’s fast and superior internet is ideal for households with multiple-connected devices,” said Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS Telecom, which operates BendBroadband. “Users can game, stream, and upload concurrently, without slowdown.  It provides plenty of bandwidth to meet everyone’s needs.”

Live video is the fastest growing segment of the internet. Thanks to higher-quality video and the growth in live sport broadcasts, bandwidth needs continue to grow.

“Ultra 600 is great for streaming multiple HD movies in a flash,” said Maiers. “With the growth of video conferencing, Skype and Facetime, Ultra 600 will provide improved video quality and will be a real timesaver our customers.”

The new product launch is the result of recent BendBroadband network improvements in Oregon, which not only allow for faster speeds, but also improved network performance for all internet customers.

“BendBroadband will continue to make investments in our network to ensure superior and fast internet for our customers today and in the future,” said Maiers.

Customers can check availability and pricing for Ultra 600 at bendbroadband.com/fast or by calling 1-541-668-6218.

The launching of 600Mbps is in conjunction with BendBroadband’s newest TV commercial featuring local fiddle prodigy CJ Neary.

Business Customers
This product is also available for business customers. “Business 600, with 30 Mbps upload, enables faster connections, which means improved workplace efficiency,” said Maiers.  “It also supports higher-quality video for improved video-conferencing experiences.”
