All-digital TV now in Arvada
Service upgrade paves the way for faster internet speeds in Colorado
TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) announced a game-changer for its customers in Arvada, Colo.
TDS is upgrading to all-digital service and eliminating analog cable service in late May. All-digital TV service means improved picture and sound quality and an easy-to-use on-screen programming guide. Customers with high-definition (HD) televisions will get instant access to crystal clear HD programming.
The upgrade means big things for the future in Arvada, as well. Once analog TV service is shut off, work will begin to make faster Internet speeds available.
But before analog service shuts down, customers need to order a new digital set-top box for each TV to allow adequate time for activation and avoid service interruption. Customers will get two set-top boxes free for six months. Existing set-top boxes do not need to be replaced, but every television needs a set-top box to avoid service disruption.
“We’re confident our customers will be pleased with the upgraded TV service,” said Shane West, Vice President of Marketing and Product Development. “Digital TV provides access to more TV channels, advanced set-top boxes with whole-home DVR functionality, more channels in high definition and TV Everywhere.”
TDS has been making improvements in Arvada since last year, launching fast Internet with speeds up to 100Mbps, digital cable with high-definition and DVR options, and digital phone with unlimited nationwide calling. CatchTV™, the company’s whole-home entertainment product, was launched last May.
“We want to provide all of our customers with the most innovative products and services we have to offer,” West said. “This conversion is a part of that exciting process.”
Customers are being asked to call 1-855-696-8375 to order the digital set-top boxes. The set-top boxes work on standard- and high-definition televisions.
