Scholarship opportunities available for Minnesota high school seniors
Scholarships to be awarded by Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation and TDS
TDS Telecom is encouraging high school seniors to apply for a one-time $1,000 or $2,000 scholarship from the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation.
The foundation will award a total of 10 scholarships to seniors graduating in 2020. Applications are due Feb. 21.
To be eligible for one of five $2,000 scholarships, applicants must be attending post-secondary education at a university, college, or technical college, be a Minnesota resident, and the applicant’s family must subscribe to at least one service from TDS Telecom.
To be eligible for one of the other five scholarships, applicants must be majoring in either Telecommunications or Information Technology (IT) at a university, college, or technical college, and be a Minnesota resident.
Students and their families can obtain more information by contacting their school’s guidance counselor or by downloading the application at:

“This is an excellent opportunity for high school seniors pursuing degrees in higher education. TDS strongly encourages seniors to apply for one of these scholarships,” says TDS’ Jean Pauk, manager of State Government Affairs. “Through the Minnesota Telecom Alliance Foundation scholarship program, TDS’ goal is to help ease the financial burden of college for the young people in the communities we serve.”
A telecom panel reviews each application and selects the finalists based on the applicants’ grades, academic achievements and extra-curricular activities.
Applications must be submitted to Jean Pauk, TDS, 525 Junction Road, Madison, WI 53717 by Feb. 21, 2020.
The Foundation is part of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance, a trade association representing 44 telecommunications providers in the state.
