Lovington, N.M., analog cable customers to be converted to digital TV service
TDS Telecommunications Corp. (TDS®) announced today the company will convert its remaining analog cable customers in Lovington, New Mexico, to a digital fiber network in November.
After November 17, TDS television customers must connect their homes to the robust, new fiber network and acquire a digital set-top box for each TV to avoid service disruption. The set-top boxes work on standard and high definition televisions.
“We’re confident our customers will be pleased with the upgraded TV service,” said Shane West, vice president of Marketing and Product Development. “Digital TV provides access to more TV channels, advanced set-top boxes with whole-home DVR functionality, more channels in high definition and TV Everywhere.”
TDS has been making improvements in the Lovington market since early this summer, including Internet speeds up to 100Mbps, digital cable with high-definition and DVR options available, and digital phone with unlimited nationwide calling. CatchTV, the company’s whole-home entertainment product, was launched in July.
“We want to provide all of our customers with the most innovative products and services we have to offer,” West said. “This conversion is a part of that exciting process.”
Once on the new digital network, former analog customers will have an all-new channel lineup. Documents with more information, including the new lineup, will be mailed to customers this month. Customers are being asked to call 855-845-8742 to set up an appointment for free professional installation of the digital set-top box well in advance of the November 17 analog service shutdown.
