TDS launches Enhanced 911 in Latah County, Idaho

With upgrade, Latah County dispatchers can more efficiently process 911 calls, expedite response time

TDS Telecom is pleased to announce the launch of Enhanced 911 in Latah County.

With Enhanced 911, Latah County dispatchers immediately obtain the location of landline callers experiencing an emergency. As a result, dispatchers can more efficiently process 911 calls and expedite response time.

Enhanced 911 was made possible thanks to a recent TDS Telecom investment – there was no cost to Latah County. TDS partnered with the county and several providers to facilitate the improvement.

“The ability to quickly respond to 911 calls can be a matter of life and death. We are grateful to Latah County first responders for keeping the public safe, and we are proud to do our part to enhance public safety for residents,” TDS Telecom Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Andrew Petersen said.

“Working with our industry partners, public safety can now better serve the callers in Latah County,” said Craig Logan, Idaho 911 Program Manager.
