Apply today – $500 to $1,500 scholarships available for Wisconsin high school seniors

Scholarships to be awarded by Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation and TDS.

If you know a Wisconsin high school senior, encourage him or her to apply for a Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation (WSTF) scholarship. TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) and other incumbent telephone companies across the state are teaming up to offer a number of scholarships, ranging from $500 to $1,500. In 2018, the Foundation awarded $50,500 to 39 students statewide.

“We are proud to support higher education through the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation scholarship program,” says Jean Pauk, State Government Affairs manager at TDS. “It’s a great feeling to know that we can help ease the financial burden of college for the young people in the communities we serve through this program.”

Interested high school seniors can pick up an application from their high school guidance counselor or apply online at the WSTF website. To be eligible, applications must be postmarked no later than Feb. 5, 2019.

The WSTF panel will review all submitted applications. Finalists will be selected based on grades, academic achievements, and extra-curricular activities. Scholarships will be presented during the recipients’ high school graduation ceremonies or awards night programs.

Since 1966, the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to more than 1,250 students. The Foundation is part of the Wisconsin State Telecommunications Association, a trade organization representing more than 65 Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (including TDS), Internet Service Providers, and Wireless Carriers in Wisconsin.

NOTE:
TDS Telecom applicants should forward their application to Jean Pauk c/o TDS Telecom, 525 Junction Rd, Madison, WI 53717 by February 5, 2019.
