TDS encourages employees to volunteer up to 16 hours a year during work hours to support local charitable organizations.

Collectively, TDS Telecom (TDS®), OneNeck® IT Solutions and BendBroadband and its employees have pledged $131,293 to United Way chapters for 2016-17. During the two-week campaign, employees nationwide pledged $85,793 to United Way through employee payroll deductions. In addition, TDS designated $45,500 to specific chapters throughout the country where employees are most active with local groups.

“One of our shared missions is to be good citizens,” said Dave Wittwer, CEO and president of TDS Telecom. “We encourage employees to volunteer with our paid time-off volunteer benefit and to also support the organizations served by the United Way.”

TDS allows each employee to volunteer, during the day while still being paid, up to 16 hours annually. If all hours were used TDS employees could volunteer 56,000 hours each year to United Way supported agencies, local schools, and other charitable organizations.
