TDS fiber-optic service launched in Meridian, Idaho
TDS Telecom’s (TDS®) all-fiber network is now available to the first customers in Meridian, Idaho. The network delivers internet speeds up to 1Gig (1,000Mbps), TDS’ all-digital TV service, TDS TV®+, and phone options. This initial launch impacts more than 1,000 addresses, with availability expanding by neighborhood in the coming months.
“We’re so pleased to begin connecting residents to our symmetrical gigabit internet speeds, along with cutting-edge TV and voice service,” says Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “Fiber delivers the bandwidth customers need to work at home, go to school, and stay in touch with family and friends remotely.”
The first customer to receive services was local Meridian resident, Jim Evans. A TDS sales representative stopped by the installation to deliver a gift basket to celebrate the occasion.
Last April, TDS unveiled plans to build a fiber-to-the-home network in the Meridian, Idaho area. The network will ultimately connect homes and businesses across the communities of Meridian, Garden City, and the Town of Boise
Area residents can visit TDSFiber.com to register for service, monitor the progress of the build, and sign up for notifications about the new service.
