TDS launches fiber services in Merrimac, Wis.

1Gig internet, TDS TV, and phone now available to more than 4,500 addresses

The first customers in Merrimac, Wis. can now order TDS Telecom’s (TDS®) fiber services and up to 1Gig internet. The launch of the state-of-the-art, all-fiber network comes a year following TDS’ purchase of Merrimac Communications, Ltd.

“Residents are the real beneficiaries of our investment in network upgrades,” said Julie Maiers, vice president of Marketing and Product Development at TDS. “We couldn’t be more excited to begin installations so everyone can experience the power of fiber in their homes and businesses.”

TDS is delivering residential internet speeds up to one gigabit along with the company’s full-featured TDS TV® and phone service. Area businesses can order up to one gigabit internet, dedicated fiber connections, and TDS’ hosted VoIP business phone solution, managedIP.

The new services are available to more than 4,500 Merrimac-area addresses today. Residential customers who registered will be contacted to schedule an installation appointment. TDS will also be reaching out to business customers. The fiber-to-the-home services will launch to the rest of the Merrimac area in the fall.
