TDS donates $5,000 to Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in St. George, Utah

TDS Telecom (TDS®) has donated $5,000 to the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in St. George, Utah. The monument will be built in Historic Town Square and is expected to be completed by Veterans Day.

“This monument commemorates the sacrifices solders have made and honors the families whose loved ones were killed while fighting for our freedom,” said TDS’ Brenda Cody, manager of Field Marketing. “TDS is extremely proud to be part of the national effort surrounding the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument and to help provide a permanent tribute for military families and their lost loved ones.”

TDS presented a check at the St. George City Council meeting on Thursday, Aug. 5. 

The memorial will feature a soldier saluting and recognizes all the families who have had military members, alive or deceased. Each Gold Star Families Memorial Monument is designed similarly, with at least one memorial located in every state.  There are currently 70 Gold Star Families Memorial Monuments constructed in the United States. 

The St. George project is expected to cost about $58,000.
