TDS donates to Maine Business Relief fund to support storm recovery
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has made a donation to support local Maine businesses impacted by severe flooding and windstorms in December.
The company contributed $2,000 to the Maine Business Relief Fund, which is providing grants for small businesses to help recover from the storm. In addition to floods, residents and businesses saw road washouts and prolonged power outages, resulting in substantial losses for retailers, grocers, restaurants, and other small enterprises.
“As a longtime provider of telecommunications services in Maine, we are pleased to donate to the Maine Business Relief Fund and help those still recovering from severe weather this winter,” said Drew Petersen, TDS Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs. “We hope others join us in making sure our small businesses get back on their feet.”
The Maine Business Relief Fund was founded in partnership by the Retail Association of Maine and the Maine Grocers and Food Producers Association. For more information on how to donate to the fund, please visit: MaineBusinessReliefFund.com/how-to-donate. Donations will make a meaningful difference for small business owners severely impacted by this record-breaking flooding and related power outages and will help preserve the heart of our communities.
TDS, which has operated in Maine since 1971 and is working to upgrade internet speeds in the state, was among the businesses impacted by the storm known as the “Grinch.” TDS facilities were affected by power outages, which led to service disruption in much of the company’s Maine footprint.
“We want to give a special thanks to our TDS associates who worked tirelessly to restore services to customers,” Petersen said.
