TDS and Tri 4 Schools donate bikes and helmets to Westside Elementary in Sun Prairie, Wis.
New equipment will promote student wellness
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) and Tri 4 Schools paired up to make a unique donation to Westside Elementary students in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The local fiber internet company and nonprofit organization delivered bikes plus helmets, a gift worth at least $1,000, to support student wellness.
“We love being the local high-speed internet provider, but we also love seeing the pride and smiles kids have when they participate in Tri 4 Schools events,” said TDS Manager of Communications Missy Kellor. “We’re delighted to be a sponsor and help deliver this donation to give more children that same positive experience.”
Tri 4 Schools supports the health and well-being of children by building confidence and peer relationships through physical activity programs. The non-profit offers both afterschool programs and special events such run, walks, and multisport events for children and families.
“We don’t want the lack of proper equipment to be a barrier to participation” said Tri 4 Schools Executive Director Amanda Marek. “We’re committed to supporting our community’s schools, which is why we donate entry fees to physical education departments, but with the help of partners like TDS, we can give even more.”
One of TDS’ shared values is to give back in the communities it serves. The company has been part of the Sun Prairie community since 2017 when it purchased Sun Prairie Utilities assets and subsequently expanded fiber-optic connections to all the community.
