TDS starts another fiber construction project in Rock County, Wisconsin
TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS®) has kicked off construction on its fiber network in Evansville, Wisconsin with Milton soon to follow. The fiber-to-the-premises technology offers up to 8Gig upload and download connections to homes, up to 10Gig dedicated connections for businesses, as well as TV and phone options for all customers over fiber. The builds are expected to reach approximately 2,900 Evansville and 2,700 Milton addresses.
“We’re excited to become a new provider in these communities and bring the technology infrastructure of the future,” said Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen. “Fiber-optic networks are fast and reliable, allowing businesses and residents alike to connect to the resources they need to grow and thrive.”
The projects add to TDS’ expansion in Rock County. The Madison-based company began work and connected its first customers to its Janesville fiber network last year.
Residents of Evansville and Milton will see TDS contractors working in utility easement areas as they lay conduit for the underground fiber. Beyond bringing internet speeds faster than most U.S. households have access to, TDS’ project also means residents gain a new TV and phone service provider option. Services will become available to residents gradually as sections of the network are completed.
TDS offers a range of fiber internet speeds up to 8Gig and all options come with equal download and upload speeds. Residents can also choose TDS TV®+, a full-featured TV product, and phone services. TDS offers businesses dedicated connections, TDS TV+, and managed IP—TDS’ hosted VoIP communications solution. TDS is a participant in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Qualified ACP customers can receive symmetrical speeds up to 200Mbps at no cost with the company’s TDS Connect product.
“As we build and support our networks, we will also be growing roots in each community,” said Petersen. “Beyond hiring locally, TDS has a strong culture of charitable giving and residents can expect to see us sponsoring events and lending a hand to organizations doing philanthropic work in Evansville and Milton.”
Outside of its Rock County projects, the company also recently broke ground on fiber networks in Dodgeville and Mineral Point. The Madison-headquartered company is investing nearly a billion dollars in Wisconsin fiber-optic expansion. TDS has been doing business in the state for 54 years and serves customers in 32 states.
